Colombo Football Club played an away friendly game against Rudra Sports Club as part of their plans to train and prepare for the upcoming league games in December.

17 Year Old Chaminda headed in the opening goal, and new comer 18 year old Asanka on his debut scored a brilliant goal into the left side of the net.

Coach Sisira is setting up the final opening squad soon, as the squad contains 30 players and selection is a bit of a tough process.

But well done boys, really had control of the game from the begining. A well deserved victory.

New Coach!

Colombo FC Welcomes the Arrival of Sisira De Silva as their new Head Coach!

Coach Sisira is a Lecturer at the Sports Institute at the Ministry of Sports. He's last coaching Job was GK Coach of the New Radiants Sports Club of the Maldives, where he was there for 5 years.

Sisira is Fluent in English, Tamil, Sinhalese & Spanish.

The latter comes from his 7 Years stay in Cuba where he obtained Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Sports with a focus on Football Studies.

He brings a much a different attitude & perspective to the local scenario and the management is confident that he can produce some stars this season.

While many of us are still grieving the loss of First coach Dickson Silva, the team is confident that the new coach can take over where Dickson Silva left off from.

Update on the Friendly Games

Colombo FC has been training hard in preparation for this seasons league games. A couple of Friendly games were played last few weeks. The results of those are below.

ROUND 2 SILVER CUP!

After a successful 3-0 win over Old Joes SC, the boys have qualified to the next round of the Colombo Leagues Silver Cup knockout championship. Next in line are the Colombo Veterans Sports Club, aka Former Senior National Players! While the opponents might have a considerable age gap between our boys, they bring with them national/international experience as they all played for Sri Lanka at some point in their lives! WE LIKE THE CHALLENGE!

Today the club was informed that our first Colombo League Division II Match will be played against Old Joes! This is very exciting for the team as this will be the clubs first ever league match, and we are playing against a very good team.
